SOL PAYMASTER

GSVM, I would like to suggest to implement SOL paymaster for the gas fees.
As eclipse is svm rollup and lots of users start their onboarding from solana, imo it would be a great feature.

Implementing a SOL paymaster would be a great feature to onboard users from the Solana ecosystem, it will lower the entry barrier for those already familiar with SOL. This could significantly boost user adoption and increase activity within Eclipse rollups.

That being said, it's worth considering the potential downside: paying fees in SOL rather than Eclipse's native token might not directly benefit Eclipse's economic incentives or strengthen its native ecosystem.

I respectfully disagree with the potential downside mentioned. Seamless onboarding is one of the most critical factors for user adoption, and integrating SOL paymaster would only enhance this. By lowering entry barriers for Solana users, Eclipse becomes more attractive, not just for individual users, but also for developers seeking a robust and accessible ecosystem to build in.

Moreover, since the native token for Eclipse is ETH, not $Eclipse, the argument about economic incentives seems misplaced. Facilitating gas payments in SOL wouldn’t detract from ethereum economic model or Eclipse’s performance. On the contrary, it aligns with the modular philosophy of Eclipse by embracing flexibility and interoperability. The easier it is for users to engage with the chain, the stronger the ecosystem becomes, creating a virtuous cycle of adoption and development.

By «devs seeking a robust and accessible ecosystem to build in», I mean that teams are drawn to environments with a broad and diverse user base. Such variety fosters greater adoption and innovation, making the ecosystem more attractive for building projects.
